Horse Hands is the non-profit Phoenix Zoo's Equine Care-giving Program developed to help kids and adults understand the care of horses. This program is unique from other programs in the community as it is based on horsemanship and caregiving. The Horse Hands curriculum is developed off of the Zoo's mission to provide experiences that inspire people and motivate them to care for the natural world. Our instructors, programs and facilities are accredited throughCHA (Certified Horsemanship Association). We are one of the few nationally accredited sites in Arizona.
The Phoenix Zoo is proud to be the Desert Classic Charity, with proceeds benefiting our Horse Hands scholarship program. We partner with QCN (Quality Care Network) to provide support for Title 19 and foster youth to have the opportunity to attend some or all of our Horse Hands programs.
